Q s on Breaker Plow

Hi.

I have acquired some land, which has been out of production for some time. I have cleared the weeds (read mostly willows) and now I am ready to tackle the crowns and the roots. I am thinking this would be an ideal place to try out the breaker plow I have.

So now I am looking for pointers on using the plow. How deep, how fast, multiple passes, etc. I have used the plow on hay land so I know it works. Now I just need to know how to tackle the crowns.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Very slow, quarter of as fast as you would do a leiure walk. And thenyou will be hooking them all the time and getting stoped. Get a heavy offset disk.

Hi Leroy:

Thanks for your thought.

Ok, so a very slow speed would work best. I am thinking "hooking and getting stopped" means the plow will hit a stump and stop the tractor. Do I just then back up and hit it again until the root splits?

Yes I am sure there are better and newer options, but this is a chance for me to try something I will probably never get to do again.

Thanks
