Got a call from the machine shop this afternoon, block and other parts are done, I'll pick them up in the morning and then I can finally start putting it all back together if I can find all the parts and remember where they go.

If you're putting it together where you took it apart it'll help. When I bought Dad's last 66 it was in pieces. It sat in my shop for quite a while before I put it back together. I didn't have any head bolts. I had to dig through the stuff under his bench to find them.

I had a transmission rebuilt one time at a shop about 40 miles away. When I got it home, the passing gear cable wasn't there. I had to drive all the way back to get it.

I picked up the block, pistons and crankshaft, came home and unloaded and got the block on the engine stand and realized I forgot to get assembly lube, so back to town for that. I got the crank and camshaft in and the rings put on the pistons. A good start on it. We have to go to Aurora tomorrow afternoon for daughter and grandsons birthday party, so won't get back on it until Monday.
