Perkins serial number

I have an 1850 diesel that needs an engine, and have a 372 perkins sitting in the barn at my moms that came out of dads old combine that ran great when pulled and only a year on the injector pump. Wondered if anyone knew what year the engine was because I have no idea on what year the combine was, but pretty sure it was an early. Serial number is 372us2547. Anyone know the horsepower of that engine too?

If the Perkins 6.372 was out of a Massey 750, I believe they were rated at 118 hp, but I could be wrong.

If it's out of a 750 it should work alright. Check the orientation of the manifold bolts on both engines though. The 750 had a turbo didn't it? Some had a horizontal bolt pattern, some were diagonal. The guys at Worthington told me that the 1850 tractors and the combines had them one way,the White 2-105 and 2-85 had the other, then somebody on here said the ones with a turbo were one way and the naturally aspirated were the other,so I'm not sure.

They were marketed as being available with both engines, bit did they only roll off the line with a single option?

put a 372 in a 105 White. You have to swap oil pick up tubes, water pumps oil pan.Things have be changed from left to right on oiling

Of course I remembered I had the service book for the 760 dad had(which has the 750 in it too) and it has the perkins manual in it too. So it showed the 372 having advertised horsepower at 121 horsepower, so roughly 10-15 more than a natural 354.

To everyone else, I understand what has to be changed on these to make the combine engine work, I just never knew what year the combine was and didn't know if anyone had books to get the year from the engine, not that it really matters much.
