They always say "never doubt your test equipment" Don't you believe it. Complete out of frame engine rebuild. All went well until the alternator. No charge. Went about repairing wiring that had been burnt, eaten by bovines, and had a lot of people messing with it that should not have. Took the alternator to the local automotive electrical shop. Tested good. Even gave it the rubber hammer test. Still nothing. Went to the "catch all pile" in my back shed, grabbed the first old dirty unit I saw and guess what? CHARGES. End of a perfect day...

I had an odd one about a month ago. My 1365 had started hesitating when I hit the starter switch. Finally on a Saturday morning when I was doing chores,about the third time I started it,nothing happened. We towed it and let it run all day,then towed it Sunday morning. I backed it in the shop when I got chores done and dropped the starter out. A fuel filter had been dripping on it. The fuel got inside of it and mixed with the dust from the brushes and what not. The whole armature was covered with that mess so the brushes weren't making contact. I had to clean everything up with brake clean. Works fine now. I fixed the dripping filter too. LOL
