770 to 880 comparison

is there any defining things that differ a 770 to an 880 if just looking at pictures ??

I don't know that there is from pictures,but in reality it depends on the 880. The 58s had a spur gear transmission like all 770s,59 on they had a helical gear transmission. Later 770s had a checkerboard grill and went to an alternator of course. 880s never used either of those.

If looking at the left hand side of the tractor (carb side) the hose from the air cleaner to the carb is close to straight on a 770 and curves from the top of the air cleaner down to the carb on an 880. If you can see the rear end top cover (floor pan) the 880 has a bigger hump than the 770.
