Disconnecting from trans for pulling engine and power shi...

So there are two front engine mounts on the Perkins, not
seeing any bolts back by the power shift. IT manual indicates
something about breaking trunion loose I think? I already
decided I?m going to take the cab off, I need to get to that bull
gear shaft seal and the break drum, any tips?

The trunnion coupler just pulls apart,no bolts,no set screws, nothing. There are two big o rings that keep it sealed, that might be what they mean by "breaking it loose". The rear motor mount bolts are on the sides of the bell housing. I THINK it's that square hole that your battery cables run through, that's where you get a wrench in to hold them. Look down in behind the starter, you'll see them. One on each side. Once you see the one by the starter you'll know where the one is on the other side.

Those four motor mount bolts are all that holds everything in. Which side are you trying to get to the brake? They're a tight fit,but taking a wheel off would be easier than taking the cab off.

Yes sorry it is a white 2?105, I had originally typed that into the title so I don?t know what happened I think my title got too long

OK I?ll take another look this is for the 2-105 in the manual doesn?t say anything about rear motor mounts

Found the other motor mounts. So if I need to replace brake housing and bull pinion seal do I just need to slide axel housing out so I have room to pull housing out of transmission housing, because right now flange on axel is in way? Then I guess this would mean I would have to jack cab up off axel?

I'm not real sure what you're trying to get off, maybe somebody else does, but the brakes and pinion shafts are ahead of the axles. I had to one behind the pump off a few years ago to fix the blown actuator piston without taking anything else off. If the seal you're wanting to change is behind that brake housing, you should be able to get to that the same way I did to get that piston out.

I don't know,we'll see what somebody else thinks. The 2-135s,you have to pull the axle housings to get to the brakes, but not the 2-105s.

Ok great, thanks. I just remember years ago the dealer said if that seal is leaking on the pinion shaft I thought you had to lift the cab but I must have mis-heard. The service manual makes that brake housing look long going into transmission. Last time I did brakes I noticed those housing are almost worn through. The one time seal was leaking years ago I fixed it with blue RTV based on what Mr. Hofferbert told me at the dealer, otherwise he said you had to lift the cab up to replace it so I don?t know what he was talking about? I?ll send a picture

Here is that flange on axel I thought gets in the way of sliding that brake housing out and replacing seal? If I don?t have to do all that extra work I?ll just leave the cab where it is?

If Bruce said it,it's most likely true. I've never been in there that far. Like I said,I had the actuator cylinder out,but that's as far as I went. What I took off was so heavy that I had to use a floor jack and some blocks to let it down and put it back up in there.

The actuator piston is just part of the brakes your talking about right? Otherwise I?m not sure what that is
