Starting in the center of the head tighten in a circular fashion working evenly as possible toward the outer ends of the head. Tighten in about three stages making certain to have clean oiled threads.
 
After engine has been run until warm, shut down, remove rocker arm assembly, and while still warm recheck head bolt torque settings. Reinstall rocker arm assembly, warm it up again and reset valves for last time.
 
When you do the 3 steps make the second step smaller than the first and the third smaller than the second step. More tips later on. I have a check list I can e-mail you if you send me an e-mail. J.
