The original subject was "purple Oliver 1850".

Hello tjh2255, We were researching purple Oliver 1850s and came across your post from last year at about this time (December 9, 2018) and thought you might like to know that we just bought that purple Oliver 1850 which you sold five years ago to that person in Quebec. It was delivered to us last Saturday and we are very pleased with the purchase. Since you are the one who actually restored this Oliver 1850, I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about this tractor and find out a bit more about it's history among other things. The restoration you did is holding up quite well.Do you still have what looked like a gas powered purple Oliver 1850 that appeared in the photo accompanying your year old post? I think you said it was your wife's tractor. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi, I bought the purple 1850 gas that was mentioned in the post. Tim, restored both tractors and many others over the years. He has retired from the tractor business, so I don't know if he still follows the YT board or not. I bought the purple tractor for my granddaughter and have had many looks and comments at shows and parades.

The purple 1850 that Oliver painted for the growing O show was a diesel. It was used in the 1966 Growing O show in Mason City Iowa. It was used to promote the fact that Oliver has a plow no matter what color tractor the farmer had. There was no purple gas tractor at that show. Also new at that show was the 1750 tractor.
