Is there an alternative to the seat shock absorber p/n 159836A for the 1650/1655 (and other models) that now costs over $125? I remember seeing a cross reference to a Monroe shock some time ago. -thanks.

I found a number on one, took it to the auto parts store,Jeff tracked it to Sears, called them and it went right back around in a circle to AGCO at the same price as the dealer.

Married2Allis, I just went tying to find a replacement for a
1655. I was told that it was not that cylinder but the
suspension. Tractor only has 2600 hours but the seat was all
bottomed out. When it left my house the seat suspension was
working but was with my skinny butt in the seat. I? ll try and
find the suspension repair.

Thanks greg, it never occured to me that the springs may be worn out. My 180 lb butt bottoms it out! The shock may need replacing too, the chrome rod is pitted and leaks a bit.
