coupler on Oliver 1600

I need to remove the engine and hydro power unit on an Oliver 1600 in order to paint the tractor. I have the 800 page service manual, which instructs to remove the PTO main shaft and to remove the coupler on the hydro power unit. The manual provides good information on how to remove the main shaft but no information on how to remove the coupler. Can anyone enlighten me on how to remove the coupler chain? thanks

Turn the coupler until you see a couple of cotter keys. Remove them and the coupler can be taken apart and dropped to the floor. When putting it back it is MANDATORY that the keys are stainless steel. Mild steel keys don't last. A loose chain can do a lot of damage. I no longer use two keys. I get a longer key from my Oliver dealer, part # 30-3153606..3/32" X 2" Not much fun putting that chain back on. Crowded in there. Arnie

As Ziffel says. I'll ad,put the HP in under drive and it'll turn freely in one direction. I lay under them and turn them around until the master link is at the bottom where I can get to it. When you put it back together,be sure to use a cotter pin long enough to go all the way through both holes to keep the pins from turning, not two short pins.
