Here's my 66, S/N 420009, which I believe
would make it the 9th one made. It came
off a hay farm in the UP of MI. I can't
remember for sure, but I believe the
family of the guy I bought it from were
the owners of the tractor since new. I
put rebuilt the engine, new pistons and
sleeves, etc, and I've replaced every
seal and gasket on the tractor except for
the seal at the bottom of the front
steering bolster. Still 6V system. I
rewired it. I'm not a painter, so I just
stripped the paint and left it in primer.
I didn't strip the rims, hood, fenders,
drawbar, or nose cone, but did do most
everything else, probably 75% of it
anyway. Looks like heck, but oh well, I
have other projects I need to get to. I
cut the spot welds on the dash and
sandblasted all of the dash pieces where
they rust and ruin the rear dash cowl.
The tag was in very bad shape, half torn
off, so I took it off and was going to
have a new one made, but then I was
advised to put the old one back on for
originality, so that's what I did.
