105 hyd leak

baling with the 105 and losing a lot of hyd oil. Discovered that its leaking around the cap that covers the end of the spool bore where the detent balls are located. have both the I +T manual and the white hyd tech service manual. Neither covers a leak there. IPB only shows 1 o ring in quite a ways. Switched to the other remote and that was worse. Otherwise everything works fine. any words of wisdom appreciated.

There are actually many seals/o-rings on the spool and the one giving you the problem is a very small one located on the detent spool. You can pull the spool out but be careful and not lose the detent balls. Put the seals on and reassemble and put grease on the detent balls so they don't fall out. You can do this all with the valve body remaining on the tractor. The seal causing the problem is a 941506 number, the rest of the seals needed are 941512, 941563, 196519A, and the number for the balls if you drop any is 30-303-41443. When you pull it apart have a rag under the detent cover to catch the balls and some plugs for the valve body.

Thanks for the detailed answer. Just a little apprehensive about taking something apart with so many small pieces. Going to switch tractors on the baler for now, but think I will attempt the fix myself.
