Can someone tell me why this tractor has "low and high"...only two gears? Or am I missing something? Thanks.

You should also have medium and reverse. It is a 3 speed trans. Without looking at mine low and medium are with the lever to the "right" and high and reverse are with the lever to the "left". The markings are cast into the cover.

Clean up the cover around the shift lever at least 6 inches to the front and to the back. You should be able to see L M H AND R
