Recently bought this loader/backhoe. It had been sitting for ten years. I disconnected the fuel line and used a temporary tank with fresh fuel. I could not get it to start. I even loosened the injector lines and could get no fuel out of them. I pushed it onto the trailer and brought it home. When home I could get it to start on either. I took the injector pump off and took it apart. It was very dirty. The mechanical advance was stuck and seemed that other parts may have been too. I cleaned all the parts and put it back together the exact way it came apart. I also Removed the injectors and took them to a local shop to have them cleaned they said they were pitted real bad and couldn't be cleaned so i replaced them. Still wont start. Now when the injector lines are loose I can only get a drip of fuel out of them. I'm thinking there should be a lot more for it to run? Any advise as what to do next would be greatly appreciated.

Did it look like there were coffee grounds in the injection pump when you took it apart? If so, that's what was left of the governor flex ring. Most likely it needs to be rebuilt.

The flex ring was whole so I didn't think it was bad. I've been thinking I just need to find a rebuild kit and do that. Where is a good place to find one?

There isn't a "kit," other than the seal kit itself. The flex ring should get replaced with the updated solid retainer and the return check valve should definitely get replaced. Depending on hours I'd also get a new pilot bushing, metering valve and cam screw.

The stanadyne part number are

Seal kit 24371
Pilot bushing 16320
Cam screw I don't remember
Solid governor weight retainer 29111
Return check 15830
Metering valve I don't remember.

Fwiw, the seal kit and retainer can be purchased together on eBay for about $90, the check is another $20. All told if it needs everything it will be around $200 in parts at internet prices. What's your time worth? The injection guys who are members of this forum will rebuild your pump with the required parts and test it for less than $500, if I recall correctly.
