Asked this once before on the tractor talk forum.my 445 long (same as 1355 I think) is building pressure in the rear end.hyd oil is being pushed out the 3 pt arm /rock shaft o-ring seals.is this a bypass from a worn pump or venting problem?or is there a sticking/dirty valve somewhere I can check?thanks in advance

Pushing out, or just leaking? Only thing that I can think of that would cause there to be any pressure whatsoever at the rock shaft seals is if the drain hole between the hydraulic housing and rear end was plugged. It s just an open hole between the two, with a rubber o-ring to seal it. The cavity where the rock shaft rides should never have any fluid buildup in it, it should all drain right back into the rear end.

I changed the o-rings on the rockshaft a few years ago.it worked then,it should work now but
would like to fix it not put a bandaid on it.

Ordered a couple o-rings for the rock shaft from
ricks ag parts.he told me the same thing;no
pressure there.been down this road before.this is
the second time in 4-5 years this happened,he had
all the information from the last order.

Not trying to sound like a broken record here, but if you are actually building pressure in the rockshaft cavity, then you have a completely different problem and replacing the rock shaft o-rings again isn't going to do you any good.

Pull the hydraulic fill plug off of the top of the lift unit (big plug on top at the back of the unit under the seat) and run the machine. If it is building pressure, then fluid will run out of that hole when it fills up. That's the easiest way to tell if it is really building pressure. If oil runs out of there, then you need to pull the lift unit off of the rear end and clear whatever is blocking the return hole between the lift unit and the rear end. If it doesn't run out of the top, then you may have just nicked the o-rings somehow and they're just leaking.

Easy enough to check,I?ll do that as soon as I repair the fuel tank leak and get it running

I completely understand that fuel tank rust issue all too well. That stupid felt pad they put under the bloody thing ate those tanks from the outside in. That s one of the very few poorly designed items on these Fiats IMO.

Is there any reason that pad needs to go back in? Those fiat built tractors might not be the most
user friendly but the engine, wow it just keeps going and going and going.we had a 350 long used
only to power 18 inch low lift pumps.that thing had well over 10,000 hours on it!

I guess the pad is there to prevent vibration since the tank only has that strap holding it down. But it soaks up any diesel spilled when filling up and then collects more dirt than you should be able to pack into that small of a space and then it rusts the bottom of the tank out. When I was redoing the 1255, the tank never leaked. I took everything apart and power washed it, painted it, put it back together and it started leaking. Sometimes it doesn t pay to open the can of worms!
