New to us Super 55. Throttle issue

Hello all. I m a new tractor owner and bought an Oliver to pull a finish mower to mow some property that I just bought.

My father in law and I are sharing the tractor.

Unfortunately when we bought it we noticed two issues. The first is that the throttle will not stay in place. Unless you hold the throttle, it ll move back to the original position. This is when it s not in gear and not moving but we believe this to be a problem. Anyone have any advice on how to fix it or possible fixes?

The other is that it appears the radiator is leaking. Any help into this as well?

Neither of us have owners a tractor so I m probably going to be here a lot as things don t work quite right.

It really is a beautiful tractor but know we have to get it working just right.

Any help is appreciated.

Look under the battery tray for the throttle friction disc---You can
tighten the spring to hold the throttle in position

Friction disk for the throttle will be on the bottom side of the
battery box on the left hand side of the tractor when sitting in
the seat. If tightening the spring doesn?t work may need to
replace the friction disk. As for the radiator look around your
area for an auto shop that can repair them.

Thanks all. My father in law who is a bit handier than I am started to righted the piece you were speaking of. Should the spring start to collapse? Or does that mean it s now too tight?

Alright, so good news is we got all the major issues fixed. We had the radiator leaking and the gas tank leaking.

We also ended up having someone adjust the PTO as it wasn't acting quite right.

So, new issues that aren't that big of a deal but things we'd like working better.

The lift on the back doesn't seem to be strong enough to lift the Woods RD7200 we just bought. It's not light but sometimes it lifts the entire thing off the ground without issue and then other times the back tires of the mower are dragging. Any thoughts? My father in law is swearing the tractor isn't big enough to handle the mower. I'm hoping he's wrong.

Throttle stays put for the most part unless you're going over thick grass and then it loses it's RPMs and has to be held in place. This isn't that big of deal but we'd like a longer throttle bar so it's easier to hold. Right now the steering wheel is in the way so it'd be more comfortable if it was longer. Ideally, now that we have a routine in mowing, it shouldn't get that way again.

Is there a way to put a cup holder on the thing? It's getting pretty hot here while mowing and would like to have a water bottle attached somewhere without drilling into the metal. Surely someone has come up with a solution to this.

Any help is appreciated.
