Does anyone know of any speacial offset sockets, or tool that can be used when re-torqueing the head bolts, so as to leave the rocker arms in place?

You could use a crows foot but anything that re locates the pivot point off the center of your torqe wrench changes the torque being applied and the
torque accuracy goes out the window. If you crush the head gasket any farther on you?re re torque it will tighten up your valve clearances and they will
need reset anyhow so you don?t loose anything but a little time pulling the rockers.

I realize that, just thought maybe. Years ago, while working with a neighbor I remember him having a special socket, that was "C" shaped, kind of like a "C" clamp, that was used on head bolts, to reach around the rocker shaft, can't remember if was Ford or Chevy's now. But you are correct, it's not that big of a deal to remove rocker assembly.

Yes I know Snap- On makes a wrench for that because I have one. They are made so it does not affect the torque reading.

Sorry if I came across as a smart a$$. Wasn?t my intent. We
just always pull the rockers so I never give it a second
thought.

I knew someone made one, but I think they were only a 5/8 or 11/16 correct? I think that it was another older company, K-D maybe? But anyway, they made a lot of valve tools back in the day, valve re-surfacing/grinders, seat grinders and such, and I am pretty sure they also made them. The one you have is probably a collectors item now.

No worries, didn't take it that way. If you ever laid eyes on one these, it really is the Cat's meow. And since there was a lot of the Waukesha's built, just thought maybe, just maybe there was something made for it.
