Cockshutt 50 diesel - BUDA engine oil pressure adjustment he

Friend here in Australia has a Cockshutt 50 with a Buda diesel engine - oil pressure is at 20 psi to start and then it drops off - I know this is a problem - just wondered if anyone knows how to adjust oil pressure to 30 psi

Look for a large slotted set screw and locknut at the front on the left side of the block. Nut is about 1-116, right behind the cam gear housing.

It will not maintain the 20 PSI adjusting that screw will not solve the problem. More questions?

Three or four reasons for a reduction in pressure as temp rises. Could be any one, or any combination of the four.

1). Wrong oil.

2) Bearing/shaft wear leaking more oil as oil thins.

3) That PRV has a leaky seat, leaking more as oil thins.

4). Oil pump needs an overhaul as pumping capacity is reduced.
