New horse in the stable

To wet to get any field work done around here so took a run down to west central Indiana saturday to get my new 2255. It?s a 74 with the 3208. Been trying to buy the thing for 5 years and the guy finally caved. It was parked due to a broken crank in 93 so it?s been sitting since I was born. Already have a good heart to transplant into it. I figure since the dual hubs are worth at least half of what I gave for the tractor I didn?t do to bad. It?s ugly but it only has 3900, plus some change, actual hours so mechanically it is I?m pretty decent shape. This it the first time in its life that it has left its home farm.

good find!
I've had an eye on one for about 20 years. Owner says he's going to fix it up. Of course thats been for the 20 years, he's about 90 now, but still doesn't want to part with it.

I?m still trying to convince myself of that. Right now I?m still in the ?what the @&$# did I buy that for? stage of the disease. Lol

Took the guy so long to sell this one because he hated it so much, no joke. Haha. Guess over the years he?s had 7 or 8 offers on it, some for a lot more money than what I gave him. Don?t know what finally made him decide to let me take it but I?m pretty happy about it.

No. Dad gets the HPOCA magazine but not Oliver heritage. I really should because I?m subscribed to heritage iron already and I think you might get a slight discount if you get both of Sherry?s magazines.

There's a guy looking at what looks to be a few basic pieces of what's left of a 2255 or something similar. About all that's there is the frame and fuel tank fenders. He's on his cell phone telling his wife it's pretty complete and she needs to transfer some funds because he's buying it.

My dad had a 2255 with the 3150 V 8 Cat and it had the planateries in the rear wheels, I was always under the impression that the straight axle models were 4 wd tractors.
