Going to look at a White 2-155 repowered with an ind. 5.9 Cummins. Pro done by an impl. dealer and said to put out 160hp Any thoughts? Thanks!

Well at 160 horse that Cummins isn?t even breathing hard yet so as long as there arent any strange noises and it?s holding good oil pressure the engine wouldn?t even worry me. The 155?s are generally well liked and well built tractors so same deal, no strange noises or vibrations from the rear end, three speed, or hydraulics it should be a good combo. Basically just makes it a little more dated 160 Workhorse.

Thanks oliverkid! The engine was part of a kit and was new. Has 1,000 hrs since installed. We have a 2-155 series 3 now, but the oldest brother is venturing away from farming and is taking it with him, so we're on the lookout.

Wisconsin cowman...I noticed that. Also, i've been around a lot of 5.9's and am always amazed at what they can do. A lot less cubes vs. the Hercules, but same power output. Less thirsty too.

I installed a lot 5.9 into 2-135 and 2-155 and had no problems power wise and the customers were more then happy with the power and torque. They especially loved the fuel economy even compared to the 8.3. I installed 8.3 also but had the beat comments on the 5.9.

Awesome..HoBoy! That's the info I was looking for! I'm a big 5.9 fan, but def a lot less cubes compared to the original Herc. The torque was a factor. Thanks again!

Thanks everyone. We got the tractor! Came with 11 suitcase weights, quick-hitch and duals. Everything works and it runs great, tires are like new. AC and heat work and is a well-maintained tractor. Going to haul it home next weekend and will post some pics. Thanks again!
