310 Timeline

Did some power washing today and these three all ended up
outside at the same time. Made a nice picture. 1800 diesel
first to use the 310. 1950T, first to use the 310 turbo. 1955,
last to use the 310 turbo. Just missing a 1755 so we would
have the last to use the 310 NA. Posting from my phone so hopefully they show up ok on here.

Nice timeline! The engine that was loved or hated by everyone! And occasionally loved and hated at the same time lol!

I don't remember where you're at - Michigan? Well, if you're not too far away from Iowa, I'll be selling my 1755 this summer so you could "complete" your timeline!

Thanks for the picture! Looks great!

We like them. Good engines as long as you don?t expect them to be something they aren?t. It?s reall pretty amazing the power they can put to the
ground for as small as they are.

I appreciate the offer on the 17. As of right now the tractor buying has to subside a bit until I get a new barn put up because we are officially out of shed
space. I just bought a 2255 because I couldn?t turn down the price and I have no clue where I?m gonna put it!

Very nice line up... I see they are all running while the picture was taken, all the rain caps are up and pointed in the same direction. That had to be a great sound! That would be my top 3 favorite Oliver's right there.

Nice! Any one of those is getting hard to find anymore. We don't see many of the set back axle over in this neck of the woods. Curious, what size rubber is on the rear of that 55?

I don?t know why but for some reason the set back axels are
fairly prevalent in Michigan. This one was a transplant from
over by Detroit. It?s got 18.4-38?s on the back.

One reason you see a lot of set back front axles in Michigan is because the big Dealer in Charlotte ordered only that type on the tractors. If the farmer wanted a different front end, the dealer changed it.

Huh, interesting. Wonder what possessed them to go that route. They ride a little rougher but they deffenetly make the tractor more maneuverable.

Nice looking Olivers. Years ago I saw three really nice fifty five series in a salvage yard, from a distance they looked great. Problem was all three had diesel 310s with an extra hole in the side of the block. Guess they didn't get the rod updates in time.
