Oliver piston ring part number

Hello
Can anyone tell me what the part number 1kas-233-b part number is for? It is a set of piston rings for a 6 cylinder engine. I can find mas-233-b. Are they the same part number? This kit is in a genuine Oliver yellow box.
Also the one ring, I believe it is the bottom ring is perforated, with a gap on the inside. Is there supposed to be a regular ring that goes inside it?
The packages inside (Six) have one perforated ring, one silver ring, one black ring, and one black ring with a taper on one outer edge.
I hope the photo will upload.
Thank you in advance for any replies.

KAS 233B is for an Oliver 88. That ring set if the shinny ring is a chrome faced ring. Diesel engines used a chrome top ring. Perforated were used already before the end of fleetline production ended in 1954. That ring set went obsolete back in about 1956. MAS numbers are for a 66 (4 cylinder0 or a 77 (6 cylinder in about the same time frame. It should be for a 3-1/2 inch bore piston. More questions?

Thank you for your quick reply. Do the perforated rings, have anything inside the cavity (another regular ring?), or are they installed as they are.
Would you know what the B on end means. I dont see a B in the 88 parts books. I figure this means oversize??

There were no oversize rings as pistons were standard size only. The perforated U-flex rings have a rail on both sides. I have not done this for over 42 years but letters in the suffix are a change that replaced an earlier part.

OK, Thank you that explains a lot. I just could not find this particular number anywhere. I picked up some old Oliver parts, and am trying to identify them. If I have a few other questions....can I get back to you?
