88 belt pulley and front transmission shaft bearing

Trying to remember how it works in there. Not that it matters, it's been a couple years since I had one off, so I was just trying to refresh my memory. This is what I'm thinking is the way it works, correct me if I'm wrong: the front transmission input shaft bearing is lubed by the transmission splash/channels whether equipped with a belt pulley or not. The oil you add to the belt pulley top plug pretty much all stays up top to lube the bearings and gears of the pulley cross shafts. Or am I all wrong there, and once you fill the belt pulley housing to the proper level it supplies the lube to the front bearing and is retained within the belt pulley housing and the front bearing housing? My mind sometimes won't let itself rest until it knows a definitive answer to something that crossed my mind and wondered about. Thanks guys

The front bearing is lubricated by the gears. When you have a pulley off like to install a clutch and you reinstall the pulley gear box you need to add some oil to the gear box. After that the pulley is lubricated from the transmission. Remember and I have that trouble as well (it has been at least 45 years since I have had a pulley off)that if you delete the pulley there is a small plate and one or 2 pipe plugs you need to install in the front transmission wall.

Thank you for the refresher John, your wealth of knowledge is always appreciated by me.
