Oliver 66 PTO update and need some help on seals

All,

I have a PTO shaft on the way, should be here this week. I also have my manual now. In the illustration below, there are 2 seals, items 157 and 158 that I want to replace as I'm 99% sure mine are leaking. Does anyone have PNs for these or a source? I've looked at the parts section here but didn't see them. Also, when I get this apart, how do I get the PTO shaft apart from the PTO unit? Is it pressed in or held by a snap ring? The book I have isn't very clear about that. Thanks in advance!

EDIT:
I think one of these seals (perhaps 157) is PN:6640705 that may cross to SKF 13537 or Timken 323138. Any validation or comments would be great.

The seal s are Oliver K-1588 & K 1590. You need to remove the 6 5/16 inch fine thread cap screws that hold the 2 halves of the clutch together. Remove the clutch disk (don't loose the 3 little springs) and you will see 4 more screws. Remove these the shaft should then tap out. There is only 1 snap ring and it holds the gear in place. Questions?

Thanks to everyone for the advice and info from the past 2 weeks. I was able to replace the broken shaft yesterday, and got lucky in the fact that the front half that was broken wasn't in the tractor. Not I have to get the carb adjusted right and also figure out why it's getting up to 210 when I was mowing with it. Thanks all!!!

Brian, I wonder why the pto shaft broke, maybe the support bushing is gone or worn out allowing the shaft to flex. I would pull the rear end cover ( that's the tin one where you put your feet) and make sure it is there and in good shape

With the shaft installed without the clutch, there was no discernable motion in the shaft. Mine was broken about 4-5" inside of the hollow trans drive shaft. On the old shaft there were no odd wear patterns or marks that would indicate it had been wobbling. I talked to Tim at Smottys and he didn't seem to think it was unusual for an earlier shaft to break due to se odd metallurgy that was resolved on later units. I have to go back into it soon to swap out the pto disk, I'll take that cover off and double check. I'm trying to get my 8n out so that in can work on this one in the shop out of the weather.

I was thinking the pto ran the lift assembly but I guess not. I am curious if your broken shaft worked it's way back in the trans or rear end. Possibly someone removed the engine and took it out the front.
