I need to know if the voltage regulator shown on Yesterdays website is indeed a replacement form the Magneti Marelli regulator on my tractor. It looks entirely different. I don't know the model number on my regulator other then the manufacturer. It has a Fiat diesel engine. If the one on the website is not a replacement, Does anyone know what is?

New replacement regulators won't look like the original. I assume you're looking for one like in this picture?

If you have to buy a replacement it will look something like this one. Rick Stair sells them, but they're not like the original.

If you're restoring the machine and want an original, then you can expand your search to Oliver 1255-1465, Fiat 450-640, Long 445-640, Allis 5040-5050, etc to name a few. You should be able to find one readily available in a salvage yard. Something bad would need to happen for one of these to have gone bad. If the system is not charging the inline fuse may be blown, or the alternator is bad, but unless someone burned the machine or beat that regulator with a hammer, it's probably fine. I've also had one where the flasher relay bracket was too close to the regulator and was shorting it out and blowing the inline fuse everytime you started it.

Take the cover off, make sure the arm works, spray paint the cover, go on about your life.
