Cockshutt 35 front axle

I have a cockshutt 35 with the non adjustable wide front axle, I would like to do some cultivating with it this summer in 36" rows. I recall that the front wheels were to narrow, is there any way to make that axle work for 36" rows or would I have to swap for a narrow or adjustable axle?

How much extra width do you need? If not too much wheel spacers with some offset wheels might work.

Or, sometimes you can reverse a wheel as mounted to the hub to get a couple of inches. Will probably steer harder.

I think you'll need an adjustable front axle from a 40 or 50 model. I believe a 550 adjustable is designed differently.

I havent had a chance to measure it but Im thinking it was around 64" center to center
