550 PTO shaft bearing

I need to replace the "O" ring on the PTO shaft to coupling. I read here that by removing the hydraulic unit (top of trans) that the coupling pin can be removed and the output shaft and coupling pulled out to get at the "O" ring. I have already changed the bearing retainer seal and added a speedy sleeve which didn t stop the leak. I want to replace the out shaft ball bearing also. Is removing the tranny top going to let that happen?

Nope,
you cant get there from there.
Its easy to pull the shaft,
You do it from the PTO clutch basket
The main thing is you HAVE TO GET THE PROPER
spring pin when you re assemble it Ive found the only spring pins that work are the proper part number from Oliver/Agco
every thing comes out the back of the PTO housing

Thanks. Your saying the spring pin that holds the coupling to the output shaft needs to be a gennie Agco? I know about the set screw in the PTO basket that must be removed. If the PTO coupling and the output and drive shaft are removed, the rear most ball bearing cannot be removed? Remove snap ring from ball bearing and remove it from the back?
