If I swap out the generator on the Oliver to an alternator, what else needs to change? Got a 12 volt battery already. Will need a 12 volt coil. I'm guessing I can find parts numbers on lights to see if 6 /12 volt

Listen to your voice mail. LOL
Alternator like what is on a 1980 Chevy pickup no power anything no AC around $50 at O'Reilly's with life time warranty but $10 core.
As for the coil a true 12 volt coil for around $20 or a VR-1 or VR-2 ballast resister again from O'Reilly's for around $9
As for head lights take the old bulb to O'Reilly's and they should be able to get you what you need in 12 volts BTDT on all of that

My poor tractor didn't come with side skirts.. .and my wife and I have come to an agreement that they are too expensive! Lol Tractor was only 600 bucks.

WRONG my 1950 Oliver 77 has a Delco 10SI on it and the full sheet metal to boot so yes they will fit just takes a shorter belt

That's good. As I said and it will work my 77 has the Delco 10SI on it but you do need to use a shorter belt if you get side shields for your

I also have Oliver tractors, five of them to be exact and the 10 SI will not fit underneath the shields of a 55, or a 66 or a 77. If you have done show pictures.

I'm on die up so pictures on this site and windows 10 does not work for me any more but my 1950 Oliver 77 does in fact have a Delco 10SI on it and has had for decades and works just fine the shields are in place. It can be done and not hard to do just a shorter belt and a tight mount. DON"T say something cannot be done till you can be 1000% sure. I've heard the same thing about Farmall Hs and not being able to mount a Delco 10SI but yet I have done so many times.

Definitely can be done, have done it with a 10si on a 77 with side curtains. Modify your bracket, shove the alternator tight to the block, get your belt measurement, pull it away from the block 1/4" to tighten it up. Done

I plan to send pictures of the set up I have on my 1950 Oliver 77 to Grandpapa love by way of my wife's cell phone when we get a nice day so she can get out there and take a few pictures. That way he can both post them and also use them to set his up
