550 trans/rear end

Until someone that knows answers, I'm going to guess that they will. As I understand it, the 550 is mainly updated looks from the super55. BUT, this would not be the first time I was wrong. Chris

It depends which gears you want to use, the gear ratios are not the same between the two tractors.

Go to AGCOPARTS and look them up.

There was a couple of differentials used in those tractors. When the Super 55 tractors was changed to the 519 powertrain code the pinion shaft was part number 100 004A. This shaft had a tooth count of 13. It was later replaced by shaft number 100 004AA also 13 teeth. Those shafts will interchange. Later 550 tractors had a shaft change at Serial number 162 291, this shaft has 9 teeth.

Turns out my parts find was no good the pinion cleaned up but was a 14 tooth which would make it a early S55 does any body know if it is possible to put a 14/53 gear set from a 55 in a 550 could use the extra speed
