Four Long Years

But last night I finally bought a 2255 I've been working on trying to get since college. Belonged to the father of a buddy of mine from
Purdue. They bought it brand new, it proceeded to break two cranks over its working life and they finally parked it in 98, been sitting
outside ever since. Luckily its a cab tractor so the rear end and dash have been protected for the most part. I bought a good truck motor
last winter that just needs a little pump work, a decent going over, and all the tractor parts swapped over to it to be ready to drop in.
Never thought I would have I would ever have an opportunity to own one of these things at this young of an age but for two grand I'm in
business! Unfortunately no pictures because it was pitch black when I was talking to them last night. We decided to wait for summer to get it
moved north to Michigan so we have warmer weather to work in and we wont tear the yard up so bad getting it out of its holes. Man I cant
wait!

Sounds like an exciting deal for you, glad it worked out.

I've learned never say never. There is few pieces in my collection that I knew I wanted as soon as I seen there was such a thing. But figured I never get the chance to own one. Just always gotta be on the look out and hopefully the money end can hold its own.

Sounds like a good deal! It's all about being in the right place at the right time. Is the engine that broke the crank a 3150 or 3208? There's a farm around me that put a turbocharged 3208 in a 2255 last winter, they did a real nice job keeping the hood and sides original by removing the under hood fuel tank and using fender tanks.
A 2255 would definitely be nice to have someday but the one I would really like to find is a 1955 MFWD...
