1800C Value and Questions

Have been looking for an 1800C 1750 or 1850 for a little while. Ran across an 1800C diesel in Northern IN on Craigslist. They have it priced at $6,000. Paint is fair to decent. Back tires are a good. Fronts are wore out and the pattern looks like the front end is shot (Wide front). Has what looks like a starter weight behind a rock box. I don’t know much about these tractors but it looks to be a nice one. Is that to much of a price for a tractor at the other end of the state from me?

Also I prefer narrow front ends. How much would it be to convert this one from wide to narrow? $$ and how much of a pain is it

What would it cost to rebuild the wf that’s on it?

I don’t knoknow how to attach pictures or I would.

Just my never to be humble opinion, but that's probably $1000-1500 north of what you should have to pay for a decent 1850. Too much for an 1800.

Shoot,I was gonna address the wide front issue too. They're fairly simple to swap out and anybody who has a narrow front would likely be happy to make an even trade with you on it.

I looked at an 1800 before I found the 1550, It was weathered pretty bad, seat was rotted away but tires good and it sounded nice. NF gas and he wanted $3000. Don't know which series it was, it was my first look at Olivers and I didn't want one that needed that much work.

I have an 1800 c in good shape I use regularly to feed hay as it now has a farmhand 22 loader on it, too small really but I need to sell it and it is in excellent shape with very good goodyear long/short tires and like new four rib fronts. I can put a narrow front under it and would take less than $6000. also it has a three speed instead of the hydra-power also the steering has been changed to the late style .thanks

Depending on how close you are I could be interested. I would not want the loader. I’d like to see pictures first though.

It seems like this tractor is way to high priced. Thank you guys. I’m used to the other green and it is much cheaper than a diesel 4010 so I was not sure.

email me a phone number and I can text pics. The loader is not for sale anyway as I need it and will use it on another tractor. be aware that the 1800c model is indirect injection and they are somewhat different than later direct injection models. I also have a 1750 in good shape thet will be for sale shortly. thanks

I sent one let me know if it doesn’t work

I didn't see your post till Saturday am.
That seemes kinda high priced to me like rrlund
mentioned. I think $4000.00 maybe 4500.00
at very top end if it was super nice with
a loader that is in good shape. We paid
$4000 for the 1800 we are redoing now and
we went to IL to get it. Paid $2900 for
one 50 miles from home at a auction but
it's needs some TLC. Sounds to me like
oldwrencher may have a good deal for you.
The front ends are fairly easy to swap
out.

Oldwrencher could you please post or email me some pics of your 1800 with a three speed. I always thought it would be neat to put one in a 1800. I think I know how it could be done (we'll in my head anyway!!). I would use parts off a 1850 that had one. I would just like to see it thanks.
