Did Oliver ever make a decent gas model row crop tractor with factory 3pt hitch?

Thanks!

How old or new are you looking for? 1550-1555-1600-1650-1655 would all fall under that description.

Oliver had three point hitchs on the super series tractors. I started farming with a 880 oliver with a 3 pt hitch. The hitch didn't have draft control but transfered weight to rear axle. Pulled a semi mount 4-14s plow.

Age isn?t so much a concern. Would like to have a reliable cold weather starter around the farm. My IH 756 gasser is the cat?s meadow, but needs an engine rebuild. I?d like a row crop gasser that has a factory 3 pt hitch, a gas engine you can run full out and full load in the summer (with today?s ethanol gas) without seizing a piston and can be easily rebuilt by a local mechanic without a bunch of special tools or a goofy press fit sleeves like my IH. I?d consider a 1550 or 1650 gasser (or similar) provided the gas engine is as mentioned above and has a decent factory 3 pt hitch.

Thanks!

I have a gas Oliver 1550 with set back axle and 3pt I usually keep a bale unroller on and Gas Oliver 1600 utility with 3pt I usually keep a bale spear on in the Winter both will fire right
up no matter what the weather is.Don't use them as everyday feeders have diesels Oliver 1365 and AC 185 with loaders to feed usually, the the gas tractors are nice just to fire up
quick and do a small job. Also have an Oliver 1365 4WD I keep where I can plug in the block heater, plug it up for an hour and it starts like its the middle of the Summer.

I've got a 1600 gas too. The only time that tractor has ever had jumper cables hooked to it was to jump something else. Never failed to start no matter how cold a Michigan morning it was. This one only has just over 5000 hours on it,but the 1550 has over 9600. I have a 3pt V type wheel rake that I use on the 1550 all summer. Works great. I never did heavy work with the 3pt on these, but when I had my 4040 Deere,I preferred to plow with my 1850 diesel because it had better draft control. I would think the 1550 and 1600 draft control is equal to the 1850. I will caution you about the center link of the 3pt on the 1550 through 1655,you can't take it off to use a post hole auger on it. It has a U shaped bracket that hooks to the tractor instead of a clevis type hookup for a normal straight top link. It hooks to all 3pt equipment just fine, just not a post hole auger,or I suppose a boom pole, where the frame of it is the center link itself.
