Too old for me, but dad said his uncle that used all Oliver stuff dealt with them, he said he used to go in there as well. Allegedly, an old friend of my grandpa's, had the first 88 diesel sold in MI that came from there. Don't know if that's true, but that's what he always said.

Just exactly where were they? We never had to go that far,but my 1850 came from there new and still has the dealer decals.
I bought it from a guy by the name of Whitford, just east of St Johns on 21,then a little south and back west toward 127. He said he bought it new.

I was only there once....all I could remember was that it was in the northwest part of town.....I googled their name and an address of 313 north Lansing st came up

A few years back,Sherry had an article in Oliver Heritage that showed a streamline 70 with duals sitting in a showroom at a dealer in St Johns with a caption about it being for the mint fields on the muck. It gave the name of the dealer, but it wasn't Phillips. I was given to assume that it was downtown. I wonder if Phillips bought them out and moved to a new building farther out of the downtown area then?

John Glover, Kurt Stellberger, Rex Lee and I were the ones who went over there and took out the parts as Rex had bought out the parts department. I don't know who actually owned all the other stuff, and the building. The guy we were dealing with was John Bottoms who opened and ran for a while Mint City Equipment on 27.

It would have been north of M21 maybe 4 or 5 blocks, right next to the tracks, now rails to trails, on the west side of the street. There was a secondhand appliance/furniture store in the building for a long time called Dennis Distributing, now closed. Can't remember off the top of my head, but I think the building has now been demolished.

OK,now I know where it was. We bought a couch and chair there way back when it was Dennis Distributing.

I'm having trouble with E-mail right now so I will ask how far away the picker is from Rochester, NY (closest sizable city) so I will know if the trucking will make this impractical in terms of cost? In the mean time I will see about my E-mail account(s).

Have 2 machines I believe both wide row one husker and one sheller. I will double check on row width. Both have been kept inside until this past June when we needed barn space.

That must have been in that narrow window when Oliver and MM were handled by the same dealers. I remember Maple Valley being MM,but not Oliver. I had a MM manure spreader during that time frame and went to Hessler Brothers at Slayton Lake for parts for it one time. They were Oliver of course. Ed had to do a little digging to find the parts.
