55 series headlights

How should the headlights on a 55 series come on in the three switch positions? On both of mine, all 4 front lights are on for field and road. Should 2 shut off for road? Which two?

I think there was a couple variations on the switch, but for road the back lights should be off, flashers on, and if there's a "road low" I think the grille lights turn off. Field everything is on except the flashers.
