880 helical shaft

Started working on the 880 finally. We got new bearings main shaft and bushing. We put the poly bushing in the gear and we are now trying to put it on the shaft. It is extremely tight. I will probably need to make something to pull it all together. Anyone know how tight it t should be and how did you get it together?

You sure you have the right shaft? You don't need to pull them together!. Once they came out with the pressure lube kit it made that a good transmission. Have you looked for a kit out of a donor tractor?

We ordered parts from maibach tractor. They look right but doesn't mean they're. Bushing fit the shaft good but went in the gear tight. Have not looked for donor parts.

I pulled it back apart. Now I need to get the bushing out of the gear. Question is should it slip in the gear easy or tight? We are thinking it fit to tight and compressed it

My IT manual was printed in 1958 so does not show helical trans. I do have an update bulletin that says the bushing is part of the gear and can not be purchased separately. Does anyone have an update after this?
