1800 clutch won't disengage

I have an 1800 that I was going to use to blow snow today. It started right up, but when I pushed in the clutch, it would not disengage. I have the pedal adjustment all the way in and still no disengagement

This summer I had the same problem a few times , but starting and playing with the clutch pedal, finally it would work and work fine for the rest of the day. I don't use or start this tractor no more then once every few months. Also, it does not have hydra-power. What could be the problem and is there a easy fix?

Clutch plate is likely sticking to the flywheel. When you get it loose, make something to block the pedal down when you're not using it. A 2x4 stuck under the seat or a piece of rope that you can just loop over it to hold it down. Does the neutral switch work so it won't start in gear? If it does, you might have to unplug the two wires down under the cowl and make a jumper wire to bypass it,then start it in gear, hold the pedal down and keep hitting the brakes until it breaks loose.

Those wires should be on the left as you're on the seat and you should see where they go in under the floor ahead of the shift up in front of the cast cowl, kind of above the chain coupler.

I had that problem with my 1755 - it came and went all of one summer, until it finally got to where it wouldn't disengage at all. If I remember right, the clutch that was in it had a non greasable throwout bearing, and the sleeve that it rode on wore and would get hung up.
I ended up putting a clutch in it

It will start in gear without a problem. Can you go over the exact procedure how I would loosen it by starting it in gear?

This is the first tractor I have ever owned, or used, with a foot clutch, so I don't have much exeperience with this clutch set up. For the last 50 years since i was a kid, all we have been using on the farm are JD 2 cylinder hand clutch tractors. I bought this tractor last year becuase of the low reverse sppeed so I can use it on a snow blower.

The tractor currently sits in a shed with front facing the wall of the shed. I don't have much room to move forward before I hit the wall.

Regarding your problem with wall, can you put it in neutral and pull it backwards to a place where you are in the clear outside of shed? Then start it in gear with clutch down and apply brakes to try to break clutch loose. Note be prepared to shut it off if it does not come loose.

You want to start it in the highest gear you can and still be safe. It could pop free in 10 feet or 2000 feet so be ready to drive it around a bit. The more load you can put on it the better to pop the clutch free. BTDT on many tractors over the years and is a common problem

You need a large tree and a heavy log chain! Put it in reverse and back it out. Find a tree about a foot in diameter and a heavy chain. Hook low on the tree and the other end of the chain on the drawbar. Put tractor in a low gear like first or second at about 1200 RPM. Hold the clutch petal down, when the chain gets tight the clutch will release, if not there is a clutch problem.
