Oliver 550 hydraulic unit pan coating-any experience?

Hello Oliver experts,
I have the hydraulic unit off to fix some leaks and discovered 3 small holes from rust through on the pan. Fixed those by welding.
However there are other pitted areas that although not rusted through i would like to take pro-active steps to prevent worsening.

Does anyone out there have actual first hand experience with coating the pan to prevent further rusting?
Several things come to mind but due to the difficulty of getting to the pan would like to be really sure the coating will stand up to hydraulic oil and heat, not flake off or dissolve in the continual presence of hydraulic oil for a long time.
Several things come to mind such as:
* gas tank repair liquid ( the red stuff or others),
*flowable JB weld ( i think i remember some of it being 'oil resistant') to me that just means "it is effected by oil- but doesn't like it"
*Glyptal (https://www.eastwood.com/glyptal-red-enamel.html)
* Fiber glass resin ( no fiberglass)

Any recommendations based on actual first hand experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I would make sure I have all the rust out of the metal first. How big is the pitted area. Can you cut it out and weld in a patch. If it's just shallow pitting, why not use regular JB Weld and use it like a body filler? It can take heat and their website says it is impervious to petroleum
materials.

Thanks for your reply Super 55.

found this on the JB-Weld site:
https://www.jbweld.com/collections/metal/products/j-b-weld-tankweld

says "petroleum resistant". i take that to mean it takes awhile for petroleum products to adversely affect it.

Couldn't find any that say "impervious".--would be great if there is.
Sent an inquiry to JB-Weld for their recommendations for my specific application.
