1855 Cummins repower

I was looking at the 1855 in the photo ads and had a question for anybody who has done one of the swaps. What do you do about the hydraulic cooler pump on the early machines with the belt drive pump?

I have put a small hydraulic pump and drive hub off the auxiliary drive (just below the injection pump). That is where an air compressor would go, if the application was a commercial truck. You kill three birds with one stone....get rid of the original pump (which could be problematic), the extra belt and also you end up lowering the sucking point to somewhere around the top of the frame if the new pump is configured right. I have also seen them run off a 4-5 inch pulley that gets bolted on in front of the serpentine belt pulley (fan)...that set up was commonly used for early AC drives
