Just got a Super 77 gas. Good compression but 10 pounds oil pressure at idle. There is good oil flow to the valves. Is 10 pounds normal for this engine?

How much pressure at rated RPM? Cast iron or aluminum oil filter base? what is the serial number?

17+ at open throttle. Don?t have the serial number here. Don?t know about the base but it has a spin on filter. It is 1957 model.

Could find no numbers on the right side of the motor. Put a Oliver gauge on the tractor and it read on the low end of normal at an idle. That leads me to believe the oil pressure will be okay.

Stretching the pressure relief spring may help increase it if need be. It's best to put a low pressure guage right on the block to check it. I have a few I need to check.
