I have two 49 model 77 Row Crops. Both with a cracked engine blocks between the cylinder walls. I want to know will a block for a Super 77 fit and what is the actual difference between the two? The block is stamped 185220 /M100 on both of the engines I have.

Cracks in the upper cylinder wall is pretty common and is probably ok. I'm sure someone else will chime in with more info.

Are the cracks between the cylinders at the top of the block or the bottom of the block? Cracks at the top of the block will not hurt anything. Yes a Super block will interchange. My e-mail should be open if you have more questions. J.

The cracks appear to be at top on both engine blocks. Will it seal off enough with just good head gaskets,or is there something I should do to insure a good seal?
I haven't got the pistons out on one of them yet.

I don't know the history on these engine. I will keep that in mine on these restors.

Thanks for reply.
