Hercules IXB-5

I have a Cletrac HG-42 that someone swapped a Hercules IXB-5 into. I'm planning on pulling that engine out and replacing it.

What would it be worth (the engine)? I've found some info but not a ton. Seems they were used in all kinds of things. But never a Cletrac. It runs ok now, no smoke, good oil pressure, but could probably use a tune up and carb cleaned as it sits.

The original engine for the cletrac would have been an IXK-3 or IXA-3 engine. These are 3 gear version of the IX engine. The later Oliver HG used the IXB-3 engine. You have the 5 gear version of that engine. All that is, is a different arrangement for the cam, mag and governor drives. The rest of the engines were the same. Why go to the trouble of changing it? How do you put a valve on a 60 year old engine?? It all depends on if you can find some one that wants it!!
