1850 ROPS on 2-85

A friend of mine who is a JD man has a ROPS off of a 1850 that he will give me. I checked the bolt patterns for the mounts and they are correct. He doesn't think that he has the rest of the mount. Do these use a thick plate on the bottom that the bolts go through or something else?
Does someone have pics?

Go ahead and get the ROPS while you can. I can get some pics of 2-85 w/ ROPS mount but it might be a few days.

Yes, there should be a thick (1-1/2"?) plate under the axle. A welding shop could make them, they did for me. Those rops are pretty valuable, I think 1000 or better for a good one.

Grab it quick!!! I went the other way, putting a 2-85 Rops/Canopy on our 1855. There are bolts that go through the axle, but then for the 1 large hole it's maybe a 2" wide x 1 1/2" thick peice that uses that bolt hole and one through the axle.

Here's the best picture I have of that strap.

I have a luxury of being the only person who has rights to it and its hidden in the woods well out of sight. Nice to have good friends.
I am thinking of adding lights to it like Don did. Thanks for the pics. When I get around to getting it I'll take some photos.

If you do add lights, I'd recomend putting them on a separate circuit with fuse.

I tied them in with the extra lights in the fenders, and have it on a 3 position push-pull switch. I can have either both front & back lights on, or just the back lights on.

I did drill a hole on the top & bottom of the right upright to run the wires in them.
