990 I restored

back in the day we pulled 6/16"s with a 990. A little on the noisy side but sure was eye candy. You did an excellent job on yours. Thanks for the pic"s.

very nice. Did you overhaul the motor too? If so where did you get the overhaul kit?
Thanks for posting the pic.

This tractor went down to nothing but the trans housing. I put a large port n series block with a 4 valve head when I rebuilt it. I purchased all my engine parts from Industrial engine service in Highland,Indiana. Great people to deal with. I owe a special thanks to Scott Franklin for his oustanding knowledge on Detroit 2 Strokes, also Ollie schaefer for his help with parts.

We have a 99GM down to the tranny right now, hopefully it will turn out that nice. I have to agree that scott is exceptionally knowledgable about the detroits. Did you buy the light brackets or battery covers? and if so where. thanks

I made the front light brackets mounts. The battery covers came from Ken Guille from Michagan. I modified the battery covers. Feel free to email me if you like. PS. These 990's should have round style lights but no one that I know of has repoded that style. The lites came from Korves Oliver.

I see what you mean by those lights, I suppose since they only used them on the south bend models which are quit rare there would be no market for them. I do have a couple other questions so i"ll send you an email later.

Very nice job Sir. I see you pull it as well. Which is great. Do you plan to take it to the National Oliver show in Kalamazoo, MI in June?
