Oliver 66 valve size questions

Im wanting to put bigger valves into a 66 head. Any suggestions on size and type i need?? I have M&W 3 and9/16 inch pistons and looking into finding a different cam too. Any help would be appreciated!

0liverkid, i have never seen a 66 head off the engine, but i would think it is very much like a 77 head. if thats the case use 880 valves, just have the machine shop grind the seats to fit and port the head to increase the flow. get a intake manifold from a 550. there are a lot of shops that can regrind your cam, competition cams did the one for my 77, picked up 10hp on the dyno. hope this helps, chuck

Well you are on the right track, now you will need to watch a few items. The 550/660 valves would be fine. How old of a 66 is this? You may want to use more of those parts including a manifold, cam shaft and carburetor. I will send you an e-mail
