I am going to be looking at a cockshutt 40 that has a completely rebuilt motor and a new head but it hasn't ever been tightened down and started. The tractor has sat in a barn for about 5 years. What is this ruffly worth.

This is an adjustable wide front end and it has hydraulics and the arms. The tin is in great shape. Does anyone have any idea of what I should pay for something like this.

What's the tires look like? That alone is a pretty big item if you have to buy new.

He said they are a little weathered but they still hold air and will last a while.

The sheet metal is really straight and it has a brush paint job that will come off but eventually but it is a least protecting the metal. So does anyone how much is too much to pay for this. Any guess is better than no estimate at all.
I have bought running 40s from 1000 up. However most go around 1800 on up. If I understand right the head is off or at least not completely on the tractor so it won't run? Without photos I hate guessing, but I would start around $1500 or so. I also "part a tractor out" in my head when I am looking it to figure out if I could get my money back if I had too. The Adj. wide front sell pretty high if it hasn't been welded. Wheel weights about $100 a set, belt pulley assembly $100 or so. Just my opinion others with disagree...
40s are my favorite.

Engine could be stuck after 5 years. No oil or anti-freeze could be pretty rusty inside.Not a lot more than scrap price. $1000.00 to 1250.00 tops.
