Hi all, has anyone installed one of the universal tractor seats like this site sells for say the Ford 601 series tractor? I installed one of them on my Ford 641 and while its not a 10 it works good and is fairly comfortable I really like the back rest. Anyway I've been toying with the idea of adapting one on my 770. The bushings on my seat are gone, the seams on the seat cushion and back rest are coming apart and the rubber springs have seen better days so the aftermarket seat is a lot cheaper overall. What do you all think?

The seat P/N is (Part No: TS1050ATSP) only I'd look for a white or yellow one.
 
Never tried anything else,but those rubber torsion springs are only $65 a pair. You can buy the whole assembly from Korves for $375.
 
I got a seat assembly for sale right now- the
rubbers are shot, but the rest is reasonably tight.
I'm in SE Minnesota. I also have a deluxe seat frame
for cushions available at this time as well. Drop me

Ok guys here's why I'm thinking of the seat assy I mentioned it's cost is $93.00 (I have one and it is an acceptable seat) the cost to overhaul my seat would be Bushings $46.00, rubber springs $97.00, rubber bumper $12.50, seat cushions $115.00 all added up = $271.00 plus shipping so it comes to approx $300.00, I can buy the aftermarket seat locally for about $100.00 including tax.

Hi Plumcrazy, that what I wanted to know pretty sure that's the way I'm going, I know I like the one I put on the Ford 641.

Im sure the universal seat would be much easier, and possibly cheaper. I just rebuilt the seat on my 88 this winter and have been very pleased with it. It just depends on what you want.... Do you want to stick with the original look, or are you going with function and affordability? Just a decision you have to make.
