In the 50's Oliver went to a system where they had a specification number + the serial number. When the Super models were introduced in 1954 some changes were made to the system but the basic idea was there. Scroll down the page where Adam S. has a question about a tractor. His spec number starts out 275. That is what the early 1750 tractors were. You will notice there are 5 digits after the dash. This means if you understand the code it is a 1750 rowcrop 2 wheel drive with a gas engine. The other 3 numbers are for other options. In your case they used 4 digits after the dash. Does that help?

Hi J, thanks for the information, I understand what your saying so now its to try and figure out the code. I'ii try and find the post you mentioned.
