New to 70s - 6 volt coil options?

I have a late model Oliver 70. Turns over nicely but no spark. Wires look tired or fried with 12v is my guess.
So I have by-passed all the wiring and see no spark at the plug when I jump off another battery direct with only starter and ground.
So I will first replace coil...points, rotor and distributor cap look good.
On this site they sell various coils:
1. Coil, High Performance (Chrome), 6 Volt, Oil Filled - 6-VOLT, Pertronix 'Flame Thrower' Chrome, high performance coil is for all 6-volt systems. Delivers up to 40, 000 volts (+ other specs)
2. Coil, Ultra High Performance (Chrome), Oil Filled - Pertronix 'Flame Thrower II' Chrome, ultra high performance coil is for 12-volt systems using "Ignitor II" electronic conversion kits or any 6 volt system. (+ other specs)
3. Voltage Reducer w\ Bracket - 12 volt to 6 volt.

My question is: what is 2 and 3??
Mine is still a 6v system but I am wary of them from my OC3s. Can be very hard to turn over in Winter.

I have the Pertronix ignitor on my Oliver 60 and CA Allis Chalmers. Both have been updated to 12V. I also used the Flamethrower coils on each one. I also opened the spark plug gaps to .045. Both tractors now start and run like Swiss watches.
Item 3 is commonly known as a ballast resistor. The original 6V system does not use a ballast resistor. When going to 12V a ballast resistor is needed to prevent burning the points.
One thing to check is the distributor shaft bushing. If the shaft wobbles in a worn bushing, the point gap cannot be accurately set. When it runs and the point gap changes, the timing changes and you will have random misfires. It will always seem like the engine doesn't run quite right.

I have only used the High Vibration Epoxy filled Pertronix coils (#40611) on my 12 volt tractors and have been very pleased with them.

Thanks folks...but what is an "Ignitor II" electronic conversion kit??

Use a 12 volt battery and keep all your 6v components somehow??
