Ok I got a stock 77 that is in need of refreshing. I would like to squeese a more power out of it in the process. Here is what i'm hearing from the local guys: " go to 3 5/8 bore just not over due to cracking the sleeves, Get some head work done." But that about the outside such as intake and exaust? What are my options here as for as moving more air, what else will fit? I would like to get it into the 60 HP range is possible ( or if money will allow ) Thanks :?

go to 3.75, go to a 770 head , and a 770 manifold
use the carburetor off one also . this will get you
to that point.

hb, if you can't locate a 770 head you can put 770 or 880 valves in your head just by grinding the seats and porting accordingly. i put 880 valves in my 77 head 30 years ago using this method and never had a problem. l also installed the 33/4 kit at the same time with good results. the 77 has done a lot of work and pulling since. i also used the intake and exhaust manifold from a 1555, you can get a repro from korves oliver @618-939-6681. have fun with your 77, chuck
