Did Oliver ever make a buzz saw??

In the early 1950's Oliver sold the model 44 saw. It was advertised in the Oliver-Electric wagon brochures. It was for the 66 77 or 88 row crop tractors, and mounted in the front (cultivator) holes in the frame. There was a cast washer about 4" thick the was used to set the belt pulley out, so it would line up with the mandrel. The brochure says: "DO NOT OPERATE BLADE OVER 1250 RPM. On the HC tractors operate the throttle in the sixth notch and the diesel in the forth notch from the top".

I don't know what company built the saw for Oliver, but it may have been Electric Wheel Co. The saw would not mount on a crawler or a standard tractor. I see one sell several years ago at a Oliver tractor auction near Van Wert, Ohio.
